Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect from my fist visit with a Naturopathic Doctor

Your first visit will last approximately 60 minutes. During this time, the doctor will review your health history and discuss your current health concerns in more depth. All questions and concerns are encouraged as this information will help us create a treatment plan specific to your needs. A focused physical examination and laboratory testing may also be indicated at this time.

How often do I need to see my Naturopathic Doctor?

Depending on your health concerns, visit numbers vary. On average, for patients who are experiencing acute health concerns, a visit once every 1-2 weeks until the condition resolves is required. As for patients with chronic health concerns, visits once every 3-4 weeks help to monitor progress. Once a patient reaches optimal health, follow up visits once per season are encouraged.

Is Naturopathic Medicine covered under MSP?

Unfortunately, there is currently no MSP coverage for office visits with your naturopathic doctor.

Is Naturopathic Medicine covered under my extended healthcare plan?

Most extended Healthcare plans, such as Sun Life Financial, Great West Life, Manulife, Green Shield and Pacific Blue Cross, will cover a portion or all of your naturopathic medical visits. It’s always recommended that you check with your extended Healthcare provider regarding your individual coverage.
